Day 4/366

Today I took my first photowalk. I figured I’d get out and explore my neighborhood a bit, and see what caught my eye. I’ve been on plenty of walks before, but I’ve never brought my camera along. I found plenty of photo worthy subjects, but this out of service fire hydrant really jumped out at me. I love the colors and the texture created by the years of oxidation.

  1. Oh this is quite beautiful. I have shared it on facebook, which is something I rarely do. I love American fire hydrants, even when they do not display all the colours you have discovered here. Their very shape has such character. I have photographed some good ones in Princeton. Where did you find this one?
